SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT

PLEASE READ THIS SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE SOFTWARE

1- SCOPE OF THE LICENSE: SOFTWARE STRUCTURAL BIOINFORMATICS LIBRARY

Hereinafter “the Software”.

Initial Software by F. Cazals and T. Dreyfus, Copyright © Inria, All Rights Reserved, 2008-2014.

This Software has been developed by researchers of the Algorithms Biology Structure (ABS) project team at Inria (Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et Automatique - Domaine de Voluceau, Rocquencourt - BP 105, 78153 Le Chesnay Cedex, FRANCE).

Inria holds all the ownership rights on the Software.

2- DELIVERY OF THE SOFTWARE

The Software is provided as source code. The Software undergoes continuous development. It is Inria’s aim for the Software to be used by the scientific community.

3- RIGHTS GRANTED

Inria freely grants, for the duration of the copyright, the worldwide non-exclusive right to use the Software for non-commercial research purposes only.

The Software remains at your institution and is not published, distributed, or otherwise transferred or made available to other than institution employees and students involved in research under your supervision

NO COMMERCIAL USE, EXPLOITATION NOR DISTRIBUTION IS AUTHORIZED BY THIS LICENSE. PLEASE CONTACT Inria IF SUCH USE IS DESIRED (sbl-contact@inria.fr).

4- USERS COMMITMENT

User undertakes to comply with the terms of the license. Every user of the Software can communicate to the developers (sbl-contact@inria.fr or sbl-support@inria.fr) his/her remarks as to the use of the Software.

You acknowledge that Inria holds all the ownership rights on developments and implementations done on the Software by Inria, on the basis of your comments/remarks/bug reports.

5- PUBLICATION

In case of using the Software for a publication or other results obtained through the use of the Software, user should cite the Software as follows :

User undertakes to retain the copyright notices, as well as the name of the authors, in their initial form.

6- LIABILITY

This Software is provided “as is” and user undertakes to use the Software on its own and entire liability. Any express or implied warranties, including, but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose are disclaimed.

User recognizes that the Software is a research prototype, and may therefore comprise defects or errors, for which Inria is not bound to ensure any guarantee nor maintenance services.

In no event shall Inria or the Software’s authors be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages (including, but not limited to loss of use, data, or profits or business interruption) suffered by the users as a result of the use of the Software, as well as for any difficulty experienced while using them or for it being impossible to use.

7- DISPUTES

This license shall be construed according to and governed by French law. Any dispute relating to the interpretation or the performance of this license shall be referred to the competent French Court.
